October Fun

We went to the park in St. George a couple weeks ago while waiting for Chris’ shuttle to arrive. James sure does love to slide with his big sister!

We always go to the Olive Garden with Chris after he comes home from a long trip, and this time was no exception. We asked the kids where they wanted to go, and this was the unanimous choice. Oliver is dressed up as a cute little knight and had his new haircut to surprise his Daddy. Oliver said, “Dad will see me and say, ‘who is that cute knight?'”

James liked the food on my plate better than the food on his plate.

Then we headed off to Costco. We haven’t shopped there in a few years, so we made up for it by spending way too much money. Marion had a great time riding in the cart in many different locations, and all the kids loved the Christmas and toy section.

We made sure to spend time riding bikes with Daddy after he came home since the nice weather won’t last much longer!

Marion decided to try out Oliver’s bike! She really wants to be as big as the other kids! I guess it is time to get her a bike of her own.

Oliver dressed up as Batman and used his Batman voice while playing outside. He was quite sad that he had to take off his Batman mask to put on his bike helmet, but it helped when I told him that Batman has a bike too.

While out riding bikes, our neighbor offered us some pumpkins, so the kids all went over and picked one out. Nice to have a pumpkin patch in the neighborhood!

I love pumpkins and fall leaves. They are so pretty. I love the warm fall colors.

Elora is in Girl Scouts this year. My mom is the awesome troop leader which brings back all kinds of childhood memories. The girls are working on earning their insect study patches. They made some beautiful bug boxes.

Look closely and you can see the grasshopper we caught!

These girls love art, so they ended up with some well decorated bug boxes! We’ll see what other lucky bugs get to live in Elora’s box. So far I think we have had grasshoppers, a roly poly, and a lady bug. And she only let the grasshopper loose in Grandma’s car for a minute before catching it again…
