Elora got baptized the week after her birthday. It was a beautiful, sunny Saturday. I made her dress for her and she told me, “The dress was pretty when I saw it on the hanger, but I think it is even more beautiful on me!” Of course it is, sweet girl.
Here is our crazy family. I love all these people! I love how Oliver was too cool to look at the camera.
Here is Elora with Grandma and Grandpa.
Elora’s friend Sarah came to her baptism. These little girls are so sweet and had such a great time playing after the baptism.
Watching Chris baptize Elora was a moment of indescribable beauty for me. Elora loves God and was so excited for this day. She has been counting down for a month and talking about it for many more. As she stood with her dad in the water, I could feel the love between the two of them and the love God has for all of us so intensely. It was a perfect moment of peace and joy. Elora came out of the water with a beautiful smile and as I wrapped her in her towel she said to me, “I want to do that again!” The same words I said to my father the day I was baptized 24 years ago. I love this gospel and am so grateful to have it in my life.
Back home Elora opened some gifts from her grandparents. She received a beautiful embroidered white handkerchief from her Grandma and a framed copy of the poem, “Three White Dresses”.
She was so excited about this framed poem that she cleared off her dresser to put it up right away!
Her Nana and Grampy gave her a set of scriptures that belonged to Elora’s great grandmother Betty Williams. They have Betty’s name engraved on the front and now they have Elora’s name too. There are also notes on the inside written by Betty. What a treasure for Elora to have.
Everyone watching Elora open gifts. I like this one because of that handsome guy in the background.
Elora and her Nana. Thanks to everyone who was with us on this special day!
