In the Paris airport we found these little theater spots where you could pick a movie to watch. We wished we had wandered around and found it sooner, because we started a pretty good movie and didn’t get to finish it. After a long flight, with tons of movies (some good and some bad – The Host was seriously the worst movie ever, but Oblivion with Tom Cruise was surprisingly good), and after a long drive, we got home to our awesome kids!
Who had planned me a surprise birthday party! They all jumped out and said “surprise!” when I walked in the room, gave me tons of hugs, some beautiful flowers and cards, and of course, chocolate cake – my favorite.
They all helped me blow out the candles.
The chocolate cake was a hit with everyone! They are so sweet, this was the best birthday surprise ever, and they planned it all by themselves.
Elora with her new lace parasol. She was SO excited.
Two little princesses with parasols.
I got James some fun wooden toys at the yard sale in Paris, and I found that awesome castle complete with knights for Oliver at the yard sale in Paris. We had some fun playing with our new toys.
There are my little princesses (Marion – I am NOT a princess, I am a lady bug!) outside with their parasols.
There are my boys all playing knights together. Oliver said that he loves it best when he gets to play knights with Daddy. James kept trying to storm the castle too.
I love these sweet kids. Chris asked me if I was glad that I had gone to France with him, and here is what I said, “I had a good time, and loved being able to go places I wouldn’t go with kids. But the whole time I kept seeing places that I knew the kids would love and I realized, that even during the best trips without the kids, they don’t hold a candle to trips with my kids. Even with the occasional meltdowns and frustrating moments, seeing them go to a new place and exploring together is the best kind of vacation!” So I am glad I got to go, but even more glad to come home to my beautiful family so we can all enjoy life together!
