James’ First Birthday!

I am a month late, but here it is! James just turned one and we had a little party at our house. Chris made fish and chips for dinner, which was a huge hit with everyone.

Oliver was excited that he got a double French fry!

James loved his food! And I love his hair – that is the side he usually rubs food in!

Marion likes to be the center of attention, so she is popping into this photo!

It took James awhile to figure out the present deal, but he knew he was supposed to be excited because everyone else sure was.

His siblings came over to help him open presents, and play with presents, and take his presents… Whoops! Back off for a minute siblings!

What is all this paper for and why are people telling me to rip it?!?!?

What is in the big box?

A farm! James loves farm animals. The sheep is his favorite.

Chris made a big train box, all the kids enjoyed playing with it with their baby brother.

James got pumpkin cheesecake for his birthday. He LOVED it when we sang “Happy Birthday”.

So happy to be sung to! Then Marion blew out his candle before we had to worry about him reaching out the grab the flame.

Hm… what is this? He dipped his fingers in it a few times. He really didn’t know what to think.

I don’t really want that on my hands…

Then he actually started to eat some, and then he squeezed all the pieces and threw them on the ground. Guess cake is not really his thing! He sure does love ice cream though!

I can’t believe our baby boy is already one. He has been our happy little guy. Even when he is sick, he is still pretty easy going and happy. He is learning to shriek at his siblings when they don’t give him his way, and he cries the most when someone goes outside and doesn’t let him come! He loves to play in the sand table, look at the cats, pick up rocks and sticks, dig in the garden, open drawers, use my muffin pan and spatula, unload the dishwasher, play on the slide and swing, and if he finds his book “Moo, Baa, La la la” then he is sure to pick it up, hand it to the nearest adult, and climb in their lap! He likes to say Baaa and Mmmmm and loves plain oatmeal and yogurt, macaroni and cheese, or really any cheese, asparagus, and meat in all forms. He has been a bright spot in our lives, and all the kids adore him (maybe too much…) Happy Birthday James E Boo! We love you!
