Orange County Zoo

Another day at Sharon’s house we went to the Orange County Zoo. I did not know Orange County had a zoo, and thought it was pretty awesome that it only cost $2 a person. We went with my kids, Sharon’s kids, and Sharon’s neighbor, so we had quite a crew of kids. Marion did not want to pose with everyone else, so she is hanging out in the background.

There was a zoo worker with snake that everyone got to pet. This was a huge hit with my kids, especially the girls. They both love snakes.

This is a small zoo, but the kids and I really enjoyed it. It was a nice place to spend the afternoon. We got to see some coyotes which I thought was pretty cool because I have never seen one at the zoo before.

There was a petting zoo with goats. There were curry combs to comb the goats. Here is Marion asking Drake, “Where is my comb?” She didn’t know where to get them. We got her a comb so she could play with the goats too.

Here is my one picture of Oliver with the goats. He thought it was fun for about 5 minutes and then he was done combing goats.

Elora and Cameron hung out with these goats for a little while. Elora loves Cameron because he plays with her. It is very sweet of him to hang out with his little cousins.

Marion hugged all the goats goodbye when we left the petty zoo.

Marion loves lizards so she kept running back to the lizard exhibit. Luckily the zoo is small enough that she didn’t have to stray to far to get there. She really didn’t want to leave this little lizard.

Oliver is as big as a barn owl!

There were two cougars at the zoo, and they were out walking around and growling at the kids. Marion thought it was pretty neat to see the “BIG kitties”.
