Teeball season was in May. We were out of town for part of it and sick for part of it, but luckily the kids’ coach was really understanding and just told me to bring the kids when we could come. So we had a short season this year, but the kids loved it.
Oliver wore his Batman cape to the first game to “help me run SUPER FAST!”
Elora loves to bat and run the bases. She had a rough time the first couple games since the kids didn’t get to attend many practices, but she kept working at it!
Here is Oliver flirting with his friend Jane on third base. I love teeball because most of the kids in the Valley play, so the kids love seeing all their friends whether they are on their own team or on a team they play against.
As the games went on, Elora really found her groove and started hitting the ball really far. I will admit I was super impressed. She has never really seemed all that interested in teeball, but she really played well the last couple games.
Oliver is fun to watch because he is just so happy to be involved! He doesn’t always seem to know what he is supposed to do, but he loves it anyway!
Especially the running part. Since he runs all day anyway, all we need to do is point him in the right direction…
He eventually started figuring out the pick up the ball and throw it part too! Especially during the games where he had his cape. I think it really helped his game.
This made me laugh. Elora saw she couldn’t throw it before the runner got to first base, so she just walked over and handed Colt the ball.
There’s happy Oliver swinging the bat. He kept switching between right and left handed batting, which made it difficult to get a picture because I was always standing on the wrong side. I finally caught one at this game.
Elora with her game face on. She looks so serious when she plays!
I know there are a lot of pictures of Oliver running, but he is just so cute and happy when he is running during teeball games!
Elora REALLY got into teeball after the first couple games, and actually started making plays. The first time she chased the ball, I was taking pictures of some of my friends’ kids who were up to bat and completely missed it! I just didn’t expect it, because she had never done that before. Luckily she played great the whole rest of the game, so I got some great pictures of her playing.
She LOVED tagging out the runners. I love this one because Holden tried to run away from her by running off onto the grass, so they were both giggling by the time she tagged him.
She was so proud of herself after that game. She knew she had played well, and it was fun to see how happy she was to realize she did a great job.
This is Oliver’s favorite part of the game – high fiving the other team!
Here is my Marion cookie monster. She was occasionally out on the field because she would chase me out there when I went to take pictures. She is excited to get her own chance to play – too bad she has a couple more years before she is old enough!
Here is our walk home. I loved the light on the grass and trees. Our house is in the background. I love when the games are on the field near our house, it is so fun to walk with the kids up to the field.
Marion loves the walk home because she gets to pick up rocks, sticks, and juniper berries.
This was the last game, and Elora hit the ball really well.
…and here is Oliver pretending to drive a car while on second base…
I was actually sad this was the last game, I really enjoyed watching the kids play teeball.
Marion found a great pile of dirt at the last game, which was AWESOME because she stayed occupied and off the field the whole game.
This girl loves dirt.
And taking off her shoes. Sigh. At least we found them before we went home. She loses lots of shoes, socks, and hats outside!
Oliver even chased the ball a few times!
And he threw it too! Not always to the right place, but I am so proud of him for trying to figure out what to do!
Here is the kids team: Back left to right – Colt, Peter, Kate, Elora, Front left to right – Wyatt, Summer, Ammon, Oliver
The kids had a great time playing! This was Elora’s last year of teeball, which makes me a little sad, but I am glad she had a lot of fun her last year! Best of all, I loved that the kids really enjoyed playing on the same team. They are sweet and really liked getting to play teeball together!
