Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year, we had lots of visitors! I love this time of year when we get to spend it with family and friends. Chris’ parents and his brother David with his family came to visit and we made a whole lot of food.
When I was baking pies, Esmeralda and Princessa came in and played with the scraps of dough. I forgot how much I love teaching kids about cooking. My kids are not quite big enough to help around the kitchen, but I am looking forward to starting to teach Elora some cooking skills in the next few years.
Casey snuggled James a lot. They make a cute pair.
Marion spent the whole weekend running amok. But she always does that.
Chris took the kids out paintballing with our paintball pistols. They put all the little kids in yellow jerseys with rules stating that no one could shoot the yellow jersey kids. But that meant the little ones could sneak up on people and shoot them with no fear of retaliation…
What a good looking paintball crew. Chris wisely chose to be on the team with all the little kids so he could send them out and shoot everyone else while he stayed back in his bunker. Oliver was excited that he got to shoot Cassie in the face, and there are rumors that Grampy shot at the kids in the yellow jerseys…
Marion stayed behind and played in the yard with Oliver’s broken fishing pole. It is quite the favorite toy.

Elora was so excited to play at the park with her cousins and a new friend the girls met. They spent most of Thanksgiving Day at the park when there wasn’t food on the table. And as a special treat, the fire truck was out for the girls to pose next to!

We went up to Brian Head one day also to take the Arizonians sledding. The lift next to our condo is not open yet, but that’s okay because we get to use the ski run as a sledding hill!!! We found enough winter clothes for everyone and sledded until the Arizona crew got cold feet. We also spent time riding David’s ATV, target shooting, and burning enough firewood to make our house 90 degrees. We are so grateful that we could spend this holiday with family. Elora and Oliver loved having their cousins and Uncle David and Aunt Lupita visit and are looking forward to seeing them again!
