My friend Christine just had a birthday, and since she works a lot and wasn’t going to have a party, we decided to bring her dinner and a cake one day so we could all celebrate! Afterall, she helped turn Ollie’s party into a super food extravaganza, so it seemed a shame to not celebrate her special day.
Check out super cool Elora in Elcid’s sunglasses, and little Oliver who smiles best for the camera when the timer is on… must be the hypnotizing little red blinking light…
I tried to help wash dishes too, but they wouldn’t let me… So I went to prepare the cake!
Alright, I totally licked the frosting off my fingers after taking the springform pan off the cake… but I didn’t stick them back in the cake, so that is totally acceptable. Chris thought he was being funny trying to capture my indescretion on film…
I made a coconut cake with whipped cream icing, toasted coconut, and strawberries. It was really tasty, and I think everyone liked it… the kids both asked for seconds. I have never made one before, and this was pretty good, but I am hoping to tweak it and make it even better the next time…
Elora was being a total goober the whole time we were there. She gets so excited about birthdays, it is super cute. It doesn’t even matter that it wasn’t her birthday, she was just excited to go to a party. All day… “Is it time to go to the party now?”
Time to blow out the candles! I only had five candles in the house, so Christine didn’t have to work too hard to blow them all out. It was a fun time, good food, good friends, crazy hyper kids…
On the way home Oliver decided to sit on Elora’s foot stand and push the stroller with his feet. As you can see he thinks it is pretty funny, but Elora was somewhat less than amused. Check out how wet his pants are too… from the rain that never ever seems to stop…
