We had some beautiful weather last week, so I took the kids ice skating at the Rathaus!
There is a section of the ice that is free during the day and has these fun penguins for the younger kids to hold onto while they are learning to skate. The kids had a really nice time skating and Marion is getting quite speedy on the ice with her penguin!
For some reason my kids love skating in the slush. I feel like I am going to fall when I go into the slushy spots, but I guess it is the ice skating equivalent of splashing in puddles. Puddles are always super fun!
My boys are a little more timid on the ice, so they stuck pretty close to mom and their penguins. We had a great time playing Following the Leader around the ice and the kids asked if we can skate twice a week. Looks like we will be back on the ice another day soon!
It was such a nice day that the kids wanted to walk back to our bus stop instead of riding the train a couple stops. They posed by their favorite big silver head “Dr. Karl”. Hopefully we will have a few more beautiful days to skate before spring comes!
