We had a wonderful evening celebrating Chris’s birthday. We had dinner at our favorite schnitzel place, Schnitzelwirt! No pictures because we were too busy scarfing down very large portions of schnitzel. Then we headed home to surprise Chris with a lovely party the kids had planned.
The kids told Chris to wait in the hall while they ran into the living room to hold up their beautiful paintings they made for his birthday, and then yelled surprise when we came in to see them.
Elora baked this cake for Chris all by herself. I helped a little with the frosting, but she told me “I want to bake a cake that looks like the pictures I draw of birthday cakes.” Which meant three layers! We enjoyed finding random dishes to bake the different layers in and Elora discovered that frosting a cake is harder than she expected. It turned out terrific with lots of yummy sprinkles and as many candles as we could find in the apartment.
Getting ready…
Everyone helped blow out the candles which turned out to be pretty tricky with these awesome sparkler candles!!! We enjoyed cake and some special mozart eis knodel that Oliver had picked out at the store and Chris enjoyed opening his kitchen gadget presents. We sure do love this amazing guy! Happy birthday, Chris! We all love and adore you and are so blessed to be your family.
