We have some wonderful friends that we visit whenever we head to Florida. This time they took us to the Orlando Science Center, a really great hands on science museum for kids. The kids had a great time with their friends in the water play area. I wasn’t sure if we would go see anything else, my kids love water!
These pictures are seriously my life goals for designing the most amazing play room for kids ever. Seriously. I want to put all of these stations in my house. I especially love the big light bright boards and the pvc pipe pegboard.
There was a really neat area about the ocean where the kids got to pet a live shark, and some really beautiful sugar sculptures of ocean scenes. Marion of course loved the one with an octopus in it. I am so glad we go the chance to see our friends. It is the main reason I love traveling to Florida every year.
Our friends had to leave at lunch time, but we stayed for awhile to check out all the great exhibits. The kids really loved the orange grove, where the kids went through the steps of picking and shipping the oranges. They also got to play with these huge pipe vacuums, and got to build roller coaster tracks for balls.
These magnetic pvc pipes were super fun. James played here for a long time building different tracks to put ping pong balls through. There was also a station to build mini roller coaster cars to send down one of the pvc tracks to see which design was the fastest.
We ended our visit by checking out the telescopes that allow you to look at the sun. The kids got to see the sun through two different telescopes. This allows you to see the sun spots! It was pretty interesting. This museum was really fantastic, I am so glad our friends told us about it! Something new and amazing to do when we visit Florida the next time.
