We celebrated Marion’s birthday in Florida. We started out the day by going to the Orlando temple. Marion loves the temple, and was excited to see a new one.
The weather was beautiful, so we walked around the grounds and took a lot of pictures.
The kids had a great time walking around together and were even pretty cooperative about me pointing my camera at them all morning! Then we headed to Deseret Book to pick out Oliver’s first set of scriptures, a mini hymn book for Elora and Oliver, a children’s song book for Marion, and got names engraved on Elora and Oliver’s books. Everyone picked out a book to enjoy on the upcoming plane ride back to Utah (which we booked on Southwest – no movies for five hours!). We got completely lost trying to find the Deseret Book and spend almost an hour driving in circles around the parking lot I had been directed to by a friendly local. We tried another parking lot, and I finally went into a bank where the nice ladies googled Deseret Book for me. It was indeed in the previous parking lot, but it could only be seen from the street, not within the parking lot! So weird. Glad we found it, it was a great store and we had fun shopping.
At the house that night Marion opened her presents. She was so excited to get an octopus crocheting set, several toy cats, and a cut cat cactus shirt. She loves cats and cactus, so we had to get it for her!
Marion wanted a pumpkin cake this year. We made her a yummy pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting and LOTS of sprinkles. Add some balloons, and this was a great birthday for our little pumpkin. She is growing up so fast. We love this little ball of fire and sweetness. She always keeps us on our toes and keeps life exciting.
