As we walked down the street in Vienna heading to the park, we came across this cute outdoor craft area on Neustiftgasse. It is set up by Sous-Bois, a stationary store that offers various classes on book-making and sells beautiful pop-up books. The craft area is free for anyone. There is a nice seating area, books to read, stamps and markers to make postcards, and paper for origami.
The kids started making postcards right away. There was a large variety of brand new stamps and lots of ink colors, with blank postcards all ready to decorate!
Oliver was so pleased with his creation. The kids opted to stay here for quite some time before we even considered heading to the park!
James found a flamingo stamp, which was perfect for this flamingo-loving boy. He happily created with the flamingo stamp for almost half an hour. This is quite amazing for James to stand in one place that long.
Marion loved all the pop-up books. She sat in the sitting area enjoying this book, “Carnaval“. Marion also loved looking at all the plants that were surrounding the craft area. She even found a cactus (cause for much excitement for this little girl) and some basil.
I loved this. We sat and read books in the fresh air. The kids all came home with beautiful creations. We don’t usually walk down this street to the park, but I am so glad we did today!
