Whenever we are somewhere with cable TV, the kids love to watch Chopped on the Food Network. Or rather they’ve learned to love it, since we watch it whenever we have the chance.
So the kids have begged us to hold regular Chopped competitions in our apartment here in Vienna.
Tonight it was Chopped Macaroni and Cheese Champions. Oliver cooked traditional Kraft Mac n Cheese with chopped up, oven roasted Pretzel rolls mixed in. Elora (or as she goes by for her stage name, Daffodil) and her assistant Marion, cooked homemade Mac n Cheese with bacon and peas. Mommy took a risk with Chili Mac n Cheese, while Daddy stacked the deck in his favor with Mac n Cheese topped with a Chicken Nugget. What kid would turn that down! Cheater…
James was the judge and he gobbled up Mommy’s Chili Mac first and said she should be chopped. And then asked for more. Then James declared Dad’s was the best and his favorite, but he should also be chopped. At the end we all voted for our favorites and it was a 3way tie with two votes for each. So I guess we all get dessert!
