This summer I have started selling bread and pastries at the Long Valley Farmers Market. I wake up super early on Saturdays to bake everything fresh. We end up with the leftovers at our house and it sure is tasty!!!
Cream puffs are yummy, especially for breakfast after baking.
James likes the cream puffs too.
Chris comes and helps me set up my display every week. Elora is my big helper and always wants to help make the bread. She is starting to learn how to bake and I know in the next couple years she is going to become a great baker!
I have been experimenting with apple pies and after a few weeks of trying out different ways of making pies, I have come up with a recipe that Chris says is the best apple pie he has ever had. For not being my specialty when I started, I am feeling pretty great about how these cute mini pies turn out!
The market is also fun because we get to go and hang out together every week and with the other vendors. Chris brought viking chess one week, which is a pretty fun game. The kids enjoyed playing games with their dad.
This was the week we brought a couple of our kittens so they could find good homes. It was fun to have a kitty friend to play with at the market.
Elora has met a sweet new friend whose mom is also a vendor. Every week these cute girls get to meet up and play around the event center.
Marion likes to come and play with sunglasses, the cash register, the kitten or other people’s pets that occasionally come to the market, and she also enjoys begging for cream puffs the entire time she is there.
Cute girl with a cute kitten. This has been a great experience as I have tried out new recipes, experimenting and perfecting them, and also fun to meet new people and spend time with the kids. There is now only a few weeks left and I think we will really miss this when it ends. But I won’t quit baking, I have more new recipes to try and perfect for next year’s market!
