Christmas with Grandma and Grandpa

We had a second Christmas at home with our bigger presents for the kids and presents from Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunts and Uncles. This collage just shows the large variety of expression we get to enjoy from Oliver whenever he opens gifts.
The best part about our kids is how excited they are to sit together and open presents. Then they get to see their own and each others’ gifts. It is sweet how happy they are to see what everyone got.
Home Depot gift cards are incredibly useful when you live in an old house, and Barbie will appreciate having a new Home Depot apron.
Marion got her very own apron and hat from Grandma. Now she won’t have to steal Oliver and Elora’s anymore! And they are just the right color for our Marion.
Elora got a rubber band bracelet loom from Grandma and Grandpa and has made bracelets for the whole family and most of her friends. Perfect for our little crafty girl.
And what do you buy for the man who buys himself everything he wants? A HUGE brick of Belgium chocolate, of course.
Elora got a baton from our friends, and she has enjoyed practicing her baton twirling skills. Marion got one too, and mostly she and James hit each other with it. But at least they get the fight with something pretty.
Me and my siblings had a family tree quilt made for my mom. My friend Jacki made it, she has a quilting business, and I designed the look (with Jacki’s help, of course). It turned out really beautiful.
All Elora asked for this year was a microscope. She was so excited to get it! We have enjoyed finding new things around the house and yard to look at under the microscope – dirt, spit, food, plants…
My siblings and I got my Dad a group gift, and here is Dad laughing as Marion shouts out “It’s an ice cream maker!” before he finished unwrapping it.
It is a really awesome ice cream maker, and we have gotten to enjoy a variety of goodies from it since my dad loves to make ice cream and sherbet.
Oliver got a new book about firemen which he was so excited to read.
My favorite gift? A drain stopper that keeps the silverware from falling into the garbage disposal. Seriously, it is the best gift ever!
Marion smiling like an Octopus while holding her new octopus book. We love Marion. She keeps life interesting.
James was a little sick, but he finally decided to open his present from Grandpa and Grandma…
Musical instruments! He loves to play his drums best of all. Poor little guy ended up sick for the next week along with most of the other kids, so we unfortunately don’t have any fun pics from New Year’s Eve since we didn’t do anything to celebrate other than take care of sick kids šŸ™ But I feel so blessed that we got to enjoy a really fun Christmas together this year. Brian Head was a great spot to have Christmas, the kids love being there with the snow and skiing, and it was fun to have our second little celebration when we got back home.
