We bought these beautiful Easter eggs in Vienna, and I have never had a place to display them. This year the kids helped me find pussy willows to bring home and hang our Easter eggs on. It was so nice to have them out again! I love them and they remind me of a place I love.
This is one of my favorites.
I loved Easter in Vienna with the markets that sold these eggs. It was so beautiful to see all the handpainted eggs. I bought more than I needed just because I kept seeing more that I loved. Marion’s favorite has the lady bugs on it.
Traditionally they are hung on branches of trees and these pussy willow branches were the closest I could find to what I used to see in Vienna. When I found a little tree I got out of the car to cut some branches and the kids all started yelling at me from in the car. I turned around to see why they were yelling and realized that on the other side of the road (by the driver’s side of the car) was a HUGE tree full of pussy willow branches. I had walked right past it and was cutting some branches off a tiny bush. Good thing I am so observant…
This egg is Elora’s favorite. And this is the egg that shows what Easter is really about. The Lord is my Shepherd and I am grateful for Easter to remind me of his life and to remind me of how I would like to be.
