Elora had a birthday a couple weeks ago. Chris was out of town that day, so we postponed her party and instead had a “mini party” where we invited Elora’s friend Dallin over for mini pancakes and chocolate milk. I forgot to take any pictures, which I am sad about, because I actually made a pretty cute table spread with four different flavors of mini pancakes and two kinds of syrup!
Oliver had a present for Elora and he got really impatient while waiting for me to wrap it, so he ran inside, wrapped the gift in fabric and brought it out to Elora. They were both so excited when Elora opened her present!
They had a great time running around the yard with Elora’s new princess cosmetic kit.
Marion meanwhile climbed inside the herb garden and kept telling me she was trapped in a cage…
Elora checking out all the fun pieces of her new princess kit.
They are only pretend cosmetics, but she loved pretending to paint Oliver’s nails and pretending to put on pretty red lipstick. I remember owning a little kit almost exactly like this one when I was a little girl.
Elora had fun running about with dirty teddy.
Oliver created a new game where he rolled his baseball down the hill and then chased it down.
More running! He is so cute.
Then he started making bridges with his legs for the baseball to roll through.
He was having a really great time. We ended up eating dinner outside too since the weather was so beautiful!

Elora painted Oliver’s nails.
She is getting so grown up, I can’t believe how fast the past seven years have flown by.

My running and prancing children. I love watching them play!
I let Elora open her gifts from Nana and Grampy since she was going to have to wait a week for her party.
She loves her new outfit.
Her friend Dallin gave her the necklace she is wearing for her birthday. She loves it and has been wearing it every day since!
She also is super excited about her new Cinderella coloring book. Elora loves to draw and color more than anything else. She is our little princess – I used to call her Juniper Sunshine when she was a baby because she just shines when she is happy and brings happiness to everyone around her. She loves to make us all cards and gifts, loves to dance and run and ski, loves bugs and dirt, loves princesses and fancy things, and wants to be an artist and a dancer when she grows up – an artist, dancer, and a mom. She is curious, full of questions, loves to read and learn, loves to tell stories, and loves her siblings who she calls her best friends. I am so grateful to have her in my life and glad I have had the chance to home school her this year. It is amazing to watch her learn and grow. I can’t believe our baby Elora is already seven!
