We have been learning about space during home school because Elora is very interested in stars and planets right now. Today we made a mobile where Elora colored all the planets and labeled them. I needed a bigger piece of cardboard to hang them all on, but the kids still love looking up at the planets.
As you can see, Elora is so pleased with her work. She loves to color and she enjoyed looking through “The Magic School Bus – Lost in the Solar System” to see what color all the different planets were. Oliver contributed by coloring “the planet that spins on its side”. Anyone know which planet that is?
Here is Oliver flying his space shuttle up to the planets. He told me the other day that he wants to fly on a space shuttle to the moon. I told him he would have to grow up and train to be an astronaut, and he said, “Aww, I want you to find me a shuttle like that. That can go to the moon!” I told him we could pretend, but that wasn’t as cool as getting a real space shuttle to fly to the moon… It was fun tonight as I got ready for our next unit we are going to study and the kids were watching me get some stuff ready for them – Oliver kept trying to take his to do “right now!” because he was so excited. I told him he had to wait for school tomorrow and he was bummed. I am glad that they love going to school!
