We bought a condo in Brian Head this year. The prices are really low right now, and we are excited to be able to spend more time skiing with the kids this year. Whenever we stay there the kids wake up and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Having cable television is pretty exciting for them since we don’t have it at home. This is also the first time we have had a real TV in about ten years…
There is a small hill next to the condo where the kids like to sled on. Marion was not so sure about sledding at first, but now she says “Wheeee” when she goes down the hill.
Elora loves to sled. She is big enough to carry her own sled up and down the hill and is finally not scared when she starts going a little fast or backwards. Chris got the kids new snow pants and coats in Austria when he was visiting there. They are super nice and warm so the kids don’t get cold and sad when they go outside in the snow!
Marion decided she was done sledding and instead scooted down the hill on her bum saying “Wheee! Wheee!” Funny kid.
Here is James’ first sled run. I don’t think he was that excited, but he likes to sleep in his warm snow clothes while I carry him around.
Here is Daddy with the little ones in the snow – notice Elora still sliding on her belly in the background. The kids are so excited whenever we go to the condo. They love playing in the snow.
Here are some pictures of the kids exploring the condo during our first stay. Marion dressed up as a princess, complete with crown, staff, and cape. I think Elora helped with the costuming. Marion now asks to hold the spatula all the time.
Oliver with his crown, cape, and staff. He was quite excited to march around being the Spiderman King.
There is an awesome spiral staircase, which is actually somewhat terrifying the first few times you go down it. The kids got used to it pretty fast though and now they love to go up and down.
Oliver switched his staff for his sword and decided to go into battle. He loves carrying around this sword which we brought back from Austria.
Here are the kids lining up for a parade. Marion is hilarious with the bowl on her head. Oliver used to put plastic tubs on his head too. Elora enjoyed being the costume director who made sure everyone was dressed properly for the parade.
We didn’t bring the camera with us on our first day taking the kids skiing. But the kids did really great. After the second run Oliver said he was tired and ready to go home, but then we started going down some new areas and he was so excited he kept asking to do one more run. After about 5 “one more runs” we finally called it a day and the kids had skiied for about 3-4 hours.
So when we came back to the condo the kids stayed in their thermals and built a city with these blocks. Their Nana gave these to Elora when she was about 2 years old…we hid them from her for 4 years or so because we knew they would probably just end up getting lost and the blocks were actually pretty cool.
