I love Christmas time and decorating for this wonderful season. The kids also love this time of year and were so excited when we pulled out all the Christmas decorations.
We have a set of nativity finger puppets that the kids have really enjoyed playing with. They carry them around the house, so we can’t often find all the pieces, but it is still fun to watch them play.
Elora was excited to pull out the stockings and decided she should wear hers. Now Marion thinks they are socks and can often be found wearing stockings around the house.
Oliver was most excited about the Santa hats. So Peter Pan no longer lives at our house – Santa just moved in.
We set up our Weihnachtspyramid for the kids to look at and they all loved watching the top spin. Marion thinks that all candles mean it is a birthday party – so when she saw it she said “Happy to you!”
I was trying to take a picture of Oliver blowing out the candles and this cute little elf popped into my picture.
Here I am putting the bow at the top of the tree. This is the one experience I ever climb on a step ladder for every year.
Oliver found our Star Wars ornaments and used them to decorate one of our mini Christmas trees. He was really excited about these ornaments.
Elora was so excited to decorate the tree. She loves seeing all the different ornaments. This little wooden figure is her favorite – it is hard to see, but he is dressed up like he is going to a Masquerade and I think she likes his purple cloak.
After we finished decorating the tree, Elora moved on to decorating herself.
Chris’ favorite part – lighting up the candles on the tree! We love how the real candles look on the tree.
We actually let Elora and Oliver help light the candles this year, but Marion just helped blow out the candles.
I love these pictures with the candle light and the kids.
This is the first year that Elora wasn’t terrified of the fire. I think that is a good thing…
Oliver loves candles. And fire. Lighting fire. Blowing out the fire. Anything to do with fire… We need to watch out for this little Santa Claus.
Baby James is excited about his Santa hat!
Elora and Oliver are such good friends. I love watching them play together.
I just posted this one because I love this sweet little girl with her blue eyes. She was a little confused about the decorating and spent most of the time (and every day since) undecorating the tree. But she loves when we turn on the Christmas lights, loves her new red dress that Nana bought her, and loves the nativity. This is such a beautiful time of year. I love celebrating the birth of our Savior and I love sharing the special spirit of this season with my children.
