Oliver decided that James needed some entertainment, so he read him a story. Oliver can’t actually read, but he memorizes books really easily, so he actually can tell James what the book says.
Then Oliver realized that James might want to see the pictures.
This cracked me up. James is usually sad when he is not being held, but this day he was so good because his big brother came to sit by him and tell him stories. Oliver was really cute and telling me that James loves his big brother.
Meanwhile, Marion was making hot chocolate. That little girl has good taste!
She very nicely shared with Oliver, to refresh him while he read stories.
As soon as Oliver left the little rocking chair, Marion sat down to be by the baby. The kids all love to be near the baby, and this little rocking chair is often found next to James bouncy seat. The rocking chair used to belong to my grandmother, and I remember spending a lot of time rocking in it. It is fun to watch my own kids rock in it now! And it is especially fun that the kids like to sit in it near their new brother so they can entertain him. He really loves the attention (which means I actually get to clean the kitchen in peace once in awhile!)
