My sister bought me Star Wars cookie cutters for my birthday and the kids were really excited to try them out, so I made some sugar cookie dough… and the kids did a really great job using the cookie cutters and had a great time playing together with the dough.
I was really impressed that the kids are getting old enough to cut out the cookies all by themselves.
Halfway through Oliver decided he was done making cookies and started flying the space ship cookies cutters around the kitchen. But Elora was very happy to finish up cutting the rest of the dough. The kids even took turns rolling out the dough with the rolling pin.
The next day we made frosting. Elora chose to make her frosting pink, and was happy with the pretty “harvest” sprinkles I bought at Target.
Oliver chose to make green frosting, and was really excited to decorate at first…
Then when the sprinkles started sticking to his fingers, I noticed that more sprinkles went in his mouth than on the cookies… but we had fun, and the cookies were really yummy. Oliver decorated two of his cookies with goldfish crackers – but I noticed he didn’t eat those ones, he gave them to Marion who quite enjoyed them. Interesting.
