Here is an old post from this summer. I took the kids to Sea World while we were at my parent’s house this summer. Here is Elora showing me on the map where she wants to go first – the dolphin show!
We stopped at the Manta Ray exhibit on the way to the dolphin show, and Elora was SO excited to pet the Manta Rays. I wasn’t sure we would ever get her to leave.
Here is Elora with cousin Jessie at the Dolphin Show. At the end of the day, she said this was her favorite things we did all day.
Marion was really excited about the show. She loved seeing the animals, and they also had Cirque de Soleil type performers that she though were really neat.
Marion liked this the best too. She still talks about dolphins with a lot of excitement, even a few months later.
Next we went a saw the Shamu show. All these shows bring back so many memories. I came here a lot as a kid and always loved it. I was glad that my kids loved it too!
The kids were all tired and hungry by the end of the Shamu show, so Oliver hitched a ride with cousin Amy on the way to lunch.
We went over to the penguins, which was also a big hit with all the kids. Oliver? He was excited about the moving walkway on the inside.
There was a big turtle aquarium that also had some big schools of fish in it. We spent a lot of time here, the kids really enjoyed watching the fish swimming.
Elora was very excited to go see the sharks. Here she is posing by the huge fossil shark jaw at the end of the shark exhibit. Oliver liked this one so much that he asked to go back and see it all again.
We went to the “Pet’s Rule” show, which has dogs and cats. Elora was brave and decided to sit in the splash zone with Aidan and Jessie.
Elora really wanted to go on the rides with Oliver and Grandma, and then she was terrified and holding on to her little brother for protection? Support? I am not sure what, but I thought it was cute.
Marion got some popcorn, and very nicely fed some to cousin Drakey. In fact, she kept shoving it in his mouth, even after he said he didn’t want anymore…
Here is our whole Sea World crew. We must be crazy. The best part is that everyone probably thought that all these children belong to me and Sharon, who were the only two present who look like we could have kids these ages… but we actually had the kids from a few other families with us that day… We had a fun time with everyone, and all the kids were really good. This was our last stop – the big tower. It turns out it was free, which is nice because Oliver was SO excited to ride inside it. We had so much fun, I brought Elora and Oliver back another day, but those pictures will be posted later…
