Elora graduated from Kindergarten! And the ceremony was quite a big deal with cute little graduation robes and everything. I asked Elora if she wanted to wear a nice dress, and she said, “No! I will be wearing a red robe!” I especially love her red and white striped socks to match her robe.
The kids sang us some cute songs. Elora is very shy of performing, but there were moments where she couldn’t contain her excitement about singing her favorite songs!
The best part of kindergarten was when Elora would get to bring snack to class. She always had reasons for what she chose. One day she chose, “cucumbers and carrots from our garden. Because those are healthy and we grew them!” And my favorite snack day, “I want to bring apples and bananas, because I really like that song!” Does anyone else remember that song from Elementary school? She got to sing it during graduation, and even taught it to Oliver. He doesn’t quite understand the point of the song, and actually sings it, “I like to eat O-pples and bananas. What is an o-pple?”
Here is Elora receiving her diploma from her teacher Mrs. Chamberlain. Elora loved school. When I asked what she liked best? “I like all of it! But especially recess and seeing all the other kids. And I like story time too.”
Here is a picture of her class – which struck me as funny, because if we live here all through high school, she will graduate with these kids and this picture will probably be shown in the senior class slide show at high school graduation…
Here is the one picture where Elora was sort of smiling, as she took off her graduation tassle to swing it around. Elora is really looking forward to starting the first grade, and told me she already really likes her first grade teacher.
