We got to make cookies for our church Christmas party. I found an awesome recipe for homemade oreos awhile ago, but instead of making them into oreos, we just threw in a bunch of chocolate chips. SO AMAZING. Oliver the shepherd helped. His latest accessory to the shepherd costume is his lightsaber. Because of course he needs to protect his sheep.
We also made candy and dipped some chocolates. Marion helped by stealing our chocolate utensils and eating a ton of chocolate.
Marion looked so sweet in her Santa hat. She was excited to go to the party mostly because she likes to eat food. Oliver was excited to go because of his costume, and of course, because he wanted to eat cookies.
I tried to get some pictures of my cute little angels together… here is a sampling of what I got… Marion running away and Elora being a power ranger or something.
Elora the wild flying angel…
Marion running away again…
Oliver looking sweet with his sheep (of course) and excited that he found the place where the oranges were being handed out to the kids.
Oh, here is a cute one of Elora, but I never could get all the kids together… It was fun for the kids to be on the stage. Our friend Gerald read Luke chapter 2, the story of Jesus’ birth, while Chris and I were Mary and Joseph, and Elora and Oliver did a great job with being a shepherd and angel. Marion however, was the star of the show, making lots of people giggle as she toddled around the stage, and at one point decided to lay down and wouldn’t get up until “Joseph” went over to help her. Meanwhile, “Mary” was struggling to stop giggling at Marion the angel’s bizarre behavior…
So I guess the live nativity could have gone better, but it was a fun experience, and the party with friends was a great way to start of Christmas vacation.
