Okay, I know when Father’s Day was. So we are still a little behind. Anyway, lucky for me, my Dad was here on Father’s Day! It was the day after the big family reunion, so he and my mom drove up with my Grandma and my nieces to spend the day with us.
Grandpa and the kids playing Angry Birds. Oliver actually calls it Mean Birds, and he is quite addicted. I try to hide the tablet from him whenever possible or you will find him hiding somewhere with it…
The rest of us all played Skipbo, and against all odds my mom kept winning. She was quite pleased with herself, as you can see. Chris and I had to share a hand since we had to take turns either cooking or checking on the baby.
We loved having Amy and Amanda to stay with us. They helped a lot with the kids, and they are pretty fun to play Skipbo with too.
Chris thought the rice crispy treats needed some pizzazz. He is quite the artist. He may have been doing a self portrait, because he totally has teeth like that. And he may have retractable horns. But the goatee? Not so much – he really wishes he could grow that much facial hair.
Elora got into the games too. So much fun new technology at our house when we have visitors.
We broke out the dominos (the kid version where you match pictures, colors, or shapes). Elora, Jessie, and Dad had quite the domino marathon going.
Happy Father’s Day Dad! I am sure it is better late than never to hear it, I am so glad you are my dad, I love spending time with you. You always help me out when I need it, whether painting walls, redoing floors, teaching me how to use a nail gun, showing me how to soothe a crying baby, or just playing with my kids. I love you and I am grateful for all you have taught me and continue to teach me. Thanks for being the great man that you are. I am so glad we could spend Father’s Day together this year!
