So everyone is asking for pictures of our house, and honestly I haven’t really taken any yet. However, here is one of Chris as he puts in new floors. We all got to learn a lot about flooring as Chris, me, Grandpa, Chris’ brother James, our friend Jed, and even Elora all chipped in to help get the floors done.
We gave away our wood stove just before Chris painted our fireplace brick. For those who are shocked that we would paint brick, I will point out that it was a very strange color of greenish-blue brick and we decided white would look better! Then the day I arrived in Utah it snowed 6 inches with more storms to come, so we all huddled around space heaters and our fireplace with no screen…You can check out our new floors in the picture above, as well as Elora sitting on a box. We are working on the whole furniture thing. And yes, our walls are bright green, but this picture is not really an accurate representation of the color, I will take some better pictures soon!
This is our kitchen door. As it turns out, when you replace floors, sometimes there are a whole lot of other things you need to do… like changing the position of your doors (or in our case, changing one door, and buying one new one since it is sometimes hard to get the door in just right when you live in an old house with no straight walls). We also painted the kitchen yellow, which looks really nice. We are still in a state of construction right now, which is why I really haven’t put up many pics. We still need to paint some more and caulk all the baseboards, and get some furniture, and hopefully decorate the walls (which is the part I am much more excited about!)
