I used to come to Bates Nut Farm when I was a little girl. And now it’s fun to take our kids. Oliver was very excited to feed the animals.
Every time he feeds the animals he sticks out his tongue.
Sweet faces like that are what make it all worth it. He’s just so excited to have the smelly sheep slime up his hands. Sheep are one of his favorite animals. He loves the sheep toy that came with his barn yard set.
Elora loved all the chickens. It’s free to go to the farm, but you can buy a bag of corn to feed the animals. When we ran out of corn, Elora picked up every seed of corn that had been spilled on the ground to feed to the chickens. There was tons of corn on the ground when we arrived, but by the time we left it was all picked up and fed to the chickens.
Baby Marion was happy to hang out with Grandma.
And Grandpa too! Grandpa took them to the farm shop afterwards to help pick out some handmade candies and nuts. Yum! All their chocolates were really good. I didn’t get to take a picture though because I was trying to keep the kids from pulling all of the chocolate out of the candy barrels.
