While staying with Grandma and Grandpa last month, we took a trip to Disneyland! Elora was super excited because she remembers going when she was two, and Oliver was excited because we told him he would get to meet Mickey Mouse!
As you can see, the trip was a big hit with everyone – especially Oliver!

This pretty much sums up going to Disneyland – waiting in line… we should have gone a few weeks earlier before spring breaks started up… but the kids were surprisingly patient and Oliver only got stuck in the bars once.
The Dumbo ride was definately a favorite. Elephants have been Oliver’s favorite animal ever since. When riding I asked him if he wanted to ride up or down, and he most enthusiastically replied, ” UP! High!”
Elora just looks so blissfully happy in this picture. We were about to enter “It’s a Small World”, which ended up being the kids’ favorite ride of the day.

Mickey has a pretty awesome piano in his house.
Here is our group with Mickey. And the biggest bummer of the day? You can’t see Oliver! And he was the one who was SUPER excited to meet Mickey. You know how some kids are scared of the characters when they meet them at Disneyland? Oliver ran straight into Mickey’s arms for a hug and a kiss. It was so cute. He was so impressed with Mickey that Oliver has dubbed himself Mickey Mouse and still talks about how he got to go to Mickey’ house and get a hug. It made the wait in line totally worth it to see how happy Ollie was.
Next we headed over to Minnie’s house. Oliver has a little crush on her, and was happy to get a kiss on the head. And Elora loves Minnie too and was excited to get to give her a hug and talk to her.
Marion was not so impressed with this part of the day… She was probably just wondering what in the world was going on most of the time!
We had the special treat of Great Grandma coming with us to Disneyland. She was the most popular person on the trip since the kids took turns riding with her in her wheelchair! It was good that Grandpa knows Disneyland so well too, because he realized that both the kids (and himself!) Could get Happy Birthday badges to wear since they all were having birthdays around the time we went!

We took the Monorail over to Downtown Disney so we could eat lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. Elora still says it is her favorite restaurant. She really liked all the animals. I just love how happy everyone looks in this picture!
Marion loved the Jungle Cruise the best. Such a happy baby! This ride has always been a hit with our babies (since we are those weirdos who have gone to Disneyland with every single one of our babies…)
I am always amazed at how long you can stay at Disneyland with kids with no naps, walking all over the place, and they are still having a good time! The kids were really good for the most part, and had a really nice time. Chris doesn’t love going to parks since there are always long lines, but seeing the kids have a great time always makes the day fun anyway. We are already talking about going back again…
Oliver declined to ride at the end of the day, and opted to help push Great Grandma instead. What a big helper! Especially since I think I was ready for a ride at the end of the day.
We gave each of the kids $10 to spend at the gift shop. They both carefully scoured the huge shop looking for the perfect souvenir. Elora settled on a cute charm bracelet with the princesses on it (she was disappointed not to meet the princesses, but the wait was 1 1/2 hours! Can you believe anyone would wait that long!?!?)
Oliver loved everything and would pick up whatever was in front of him. Until he saw the Mickey Ears. He stood there for 10 minutes picking out the perfect pair. After that no matter what toy he thought he wanted, he would put it back as soon as I said, “The toy, or the Mickey Ears?” He still wears them almost every day! Although, I love the way he is lovingly looking at his lollypop! We had such a great day.
